Kybella™ has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the reduction of submental fat.
How Kybella Works
Kybella™ will be administered into the submental fat under your chin using either multiple injection spaced apart in a grid. Once the fat cells are destroyed, those cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. Kybella™ is administered in a series of treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, and up to 6 treatment sessions may be administered for optimal results. Factors such as age, physiology, anatomy, and your goals determine which treatment plan is best for you. Many patients experience visible results in 2 to 4 treatment sessions. The injectable rejuvenates the appearance of one’s face by creating a leaner and more youthful look.

Results
Kybella™ results are noticed at 3-4 weeks after your first treatment. Ideal results are achieved after 2-5 treatments. Recovery and swelling present for 2-4 weeks. The results achieved with Kybella™ can last for years! However, it is important to live a healthy lifestyle to avoid fat cells regrowing in the future.
Kybella Recovery
Some stinging, bruising and swelling is common after Kybella™ treatments. We advise patients to wait a few days before returning to the gym, as strenuous activity can prolong swelling and increase bruising. Because Kybella™ are not invasive procedures, swelling at the injection site lasts as short as 4-7 days, but as long as 4 weeks.
Kybella Vs PCDC
PCDC & Kybella™ are both used in cosmetic procedures to reduce localized fat deposits, but they differ in their composition.

PCDC, also known as PC/DC, is a compound consisting of phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate. It is commonly used in mesotherapy treatments to target and break down fat cells in specific areas of the body.

Kybella, on the other hand, is a brand name for an injectable medication that contains synthetic deoxycholic acid. It's most popular use is to target submental fat, commonly known as a "double chin," by destroying fat cells in the area under the chin and improving the contour of the jawline. It is also used to dissolve fat in other areas of the body.
